The recognition of normal physiological variants and benign false-positive FFDG PET scan findings are crucial for accurate diagnosis. We report an atypical presentation of TB meningitis detected by Ga scan and F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG). The FDG-PET scan revealed enhanced uptake of tracer along the posterior portion of the falx cerebri, which is much intense than the gallium uptake in the lesion.

A rare case of primary malignant melanoma of cervix with metastasis to inguinal lymph node detected on 18F-FDG PET-CT scan

Primary malignant melanoma of uterine cervix is extremely rare malignancy with very few case published reports. This neoplasm is having poor prognosis, so early diagnosis, staging and treatment is of extreme importance. 18F-FDG PET-CT (18F-labeled fluoro-2-deoxyglucose positron emission computed tomography) scan is an established modality to determine exact extent of disea...

Tubercular Meningitis and Lymphadenitis Mimicking a Relapse of Burkitt's Lymphoma on 18F-FDG-PET/CT: A Case Report

Tuberculosis (TB) can present with various forms and can occasionally be mistaken for malignancy. Hereby, we report a 53-year-old man diagnosed and treated for Burkitt's lymphoma in 2009 who achieved a complete remission confirmed by a computed tomography (CT) scan. During the follow-up 2 years later, he complained of left hip pain that warranted investigation with magnetic resonance imaging an...

Occipital Hypometabolism on FDG PET/CT Scan in a Child with Hodgkin's Lymphoma

It is known that Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) Positron Emission/Computed Tomography (PET/CT) images may be helpful for evaluation of brain function in newborns. Here we described the fluorine-18 [18-F] FDG PET/CT imaging findings of encephalomalacia due to perinatal asphyxia in a child with refractory Hodgkin's Lymphoma (HL) who underwent PET/CT scan to stage the primary disease. Prominent hypometa...

Multifoci Bone Tuberculosis and Lymphadenitis in Mediastinum Mimics Malignancy on FDG-PET/CT: A Case Report

UNLABELLED Positron Emission Tomography with 2-deoxy-[F-18]-fluoro-D-glucose (FDG-PET) has become a reliable diagnostic tool in clinical practice similar to Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging and Computed Tomography (CT). FDG-PET has especially been used to differentiate malignant from benign lesions, and for staging and follow- up malignant tumors. However, FDG-PET has some pitfalls in cancer scr...
